The First Tee of Pasadena earns bonus through Northern Trust Open’s TICKETS Fore CHARITY™
Northern Trust grants additional $10,255 to The First Tee for ticket promotion

The Northern Trust Open announced that by promoting more than $10,000 in ticket sales, The First Tee of Pasadena was the top charitable organization in the second bonus pool competition of the tournament’s TICKETS Fore CHARITY™ program, resulting in a matching contribution of $10,255 from Northern Trust Corporation (Nasdaq: NTRS).

The TICKETS Fore CHARITY program offers nonprofit organizations a chance to raise funds by promoting ticket sales to the historic Northern Trust Open, to be held February 1-7 at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. Northern Trust Corporation gave participating charities an additional incentive by offering up to $50,000 in matching donations for the organization(s) that raise the most funds over three scheduled check points during the six months prior to the tournament. The P.S. I Love You Foundation won the first bonus pool. The next opportunity for the charities to receive a matching donation from Northern Trust is February 1, 2010.

"The charitable component of the Northern Trust Open is important to us, and we are proud that this program has helped raise awareness of the tournament’s positive impact on the community," said Northern Trust Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Frederick H. Waddell. "We thank the many nonprofit organizations that have joined in our efforts and we congratulate The First Tee of Pasadena on their fundraising success. We are happy to further support their mission in providing access to golf facilities for youths who otherwise would not be exposed to the game."

"Congratulations to The First Tee of Pasadena," said Northern Trust Open Executive Director Jerry West. "They have embraced our TICKETS Fore CHARITY program and are illustrating just how powerful of a fundraising tool the Northern Trust Open can be. Of course, a huge thank you to Northern Trust for their bonus pool contribution and for continuing to show that this event is committed to positively impacting the lives of so many of our Los Angeles neighbors."

The First Tee of Pasadena operates from the Brookside Golf Club, a 36-hole municipal golf facility located adjacent to the world-famous Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Brookside Golf Club occupies approximately 200 acres of land. Included are the C.W. Koiner Course, E.O. Nay Course, practice facility with 40 hitting stations, short game area, two practice putting greens, 18,000 square foot clubhouse, 8,000 square foot maintenance building, three on-course restrooms, and two on-course concession stands.
The First Tee of Pasadena holds programs directed towards youth ages 6 to 17, with a specific target for 5th through 8th graders. The cost to each youth is $25 per eight-week session. This activity fee allows members to utilize the golf courses, Learning Center, and enters them into The First Tee Life Skills Education™ program; paying for their Life Skills materials.

TICKETS Fore CHARITY enables participating charities to receive contributions based on the number of tickets sold in their name. One-hundred percent of net proceeds from tickets purchased through the program will go to charity: 75 percent to the charity promoting the tickets and 25 percent to the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce Charity Foundation, which enriches the lives of young professionals in the greater Los Angeles area to develop strong corporate, civic and nonprofit leaders through professional growth, leadership development, personal enrichment and community involvement.

Non-profit organizations interested in participating in the TICKETS Fore CHARITY program may contact Brennan Cassidy in the tournament office at (310) 838-3707. Prices range from $35 for a daily grounds ticket to $100 for a weekly grounds ticket.
